PAX Swag Day!

Today I come to you with a big grin on my face. I finally received my swag box. I have been waiting for it since I found out I won thanks to the various goodies inside. The big one being the signed t-shirt. I won this particular contest by posting a comment on the Nerdiest Kids website. I was tipped off by the Nerdiest Kids staff themselves on Cheap Ass Gamer. Of course, how could I resist some gaming related swag from PAX which I am physically and monetarily unable to go to?

Alright. So. I can't find my card reader to transfer pictures. However, the people who gave up the goods has a photo. Here is the page

Inside I found:
  • Size L Lead Runner t-shirt
  • Size L Mortal Kombat t-shirt
  • Size L Nvidia “Crank that $#!+ Up” t-shirt
  • Size L Runes of Magic t-shirt
  • Size L Bungie t-shirt signed by Tyson Green & Jen Taylor
  • Adjustable Super Hero Squad Show ballcap
  • Magic the Gathering booster pack (no rare cards though)
  • A booster pack of Super Hero Squad Show cards (It's a childish marvel show on Cartoon Network)
  • A special PAX 2010 Super Hero Squad show card
  • Kung Fu Ninja headband
  • Wii Wrist Band (Deca Sports)
  • Intel Light Up Pen (This pen has three lighting settings. One I term a rave setting where the light flashes quickly and could probably cause epilepsy, one that is a slower version of the Rave, then the solid light)
  • A lanyard for Patriot Memory
  • A Duke Nukem Belt Buckle (this is actually really cool! It's heavy though and very solid. I think I would fit in with the rodeo crowd with my big ol' belt buckle. Too bad I don't even have a belt! But I will find one and wear it. Just 'cause I can!)
  • A special PAX 2010 Dungeons and Dragons comic book
  • Super Meat Boy comic book no. 2.5
  • Zombie Pirates It Came from the Sargassum Sea comic book (Intriguing drawing style. The cover makes me giggle)
  • A button set for Valkyria Chronicles 2 (PAX 2010 exclusive)
  • A bunch of various buttons
  • a couple of guitar picks (one is an ad for the Power Gig video game, another for Seven45 Studios
  • A temporary tattoo for The Extreme Team
  • A couple of beta keys and free 30-days of play card. The 30-day code is for Fallen Earth. The beta keys are for Rift as well as End of Nations.
  • A small container of orange mint things that I gave to my dad cause I don't like orange.

Now, beware I did nothing close to bribing to win. I just put up my name and email address, said I want to win and bam, my name was drawn. That is how a lot of 'post a comment' contests work. Others however will have you name something, answer trivia, give a reason you should get the item or items, etc., The easiest has to be the 'simply post your name and email address' post a comment type giveaways. The hardest would be trivia because it's often 'be the first to answer correctly'.

When entering any giveaway be sure it is open to your area. I have seen plenty of Europeans enter then they can't win and another name has to be drawn. There are laws everywhere about giveaways. In Canada you have to answer a simple mathematical question usually in order to win a giveaway thanks to a gambling law I believe. But don't despair if that super awesome giveaway isn't available in your area! There are plenty more global giveaways out there.
